About us
Who we are
We are deeply committed to the sustained improvement of Jewish lives and the expansion of Jewish communities in our immediate environment in order to pave the way for a brighter future for these groups to the greatest extent that we are able to do so.
The Initiative for Progressive Judaism Development (IPJD) is a non-profit Incorporated Trustee that is registered with the Cooperate Affairs Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
We found ourselves living in a society in Nigeria where the majority of Jewish adults, children, and youths are forced to contend with the challenging aspects of everyday life. Nevertheless, the spirit of Judaism continues to be ever as strong among them even in the face of all odds. As a result, our group pondered the various ways in which it might be able to lend a hand by drawing on its previous experiences and existing networks in order to make a positive impact on the problems that our brothers and sisters are currently facing.
Synagogues that are in need of Jewish Judaica, such as Siddurim, Chumash, and Tanach, as well as other types of prayer materials, can always count on us to source and offer these items. In addition, we travel to congregations located in rural areas to learn more about those communities and identify the areas in which they could use assistance.

Our approach
Mission Statement
To foster a sense of community and cooperation among the various Jewish communities in Nigeria. This objective has been established to bring attention to Judaism while simultaneously promoting the practice of peaceful coexistence between Judaism and other faiths and culture.
Vision Statement
We seek a future of peace, wellness, global recognition, and economic independence of the majority in our surrounding Jewish congregations. A robust and flourishing Jewish lifestyle in a typical Jewish settlement community where Jews will live alongside each other, strongly bonded by the halacha and kashrut practices.
